scrape endpoint outside main

Dear Prometheus Community,

Thank you for this super helpful client!

I was looking at the example directory and in there the HTTP endpoint and the custom registry all reside within the main.

My use case is more or less the following:

1. I would like to host the HTTP endpoint and the custom registry in a separate package (not in main) that will handle this.
2. Call an exposed go function on this package that will set the variables.
3. Wait for the scrape interval to pass in order to be sure Prometheus have been round to scrape the metrics.
4. Then return to the caller function.

Is it possible to construct custom metrics in such a way with this client?
