To reproduce:

  • Set a different cursor theme.

This can be accomplished by a combination of setting gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface cursor-theme cursor_theme_name, changing XCURSOR_THEME to something else, and modifying other config files.

  • Notice how libcosmic always uses the Cosmic cursor theme
