Hi, guys. I'm on sway right now and want to migrate to cosmic. My workflow on sway is tabbed layout with a small number of tiles in cases where I really need windows side by side. Sway has a configuration option that allows you to select the default layout between tiling/stacking/tabbed. This is similar to what switching in cosmic between tile and floating modes does. So, the stacking mode is already implemented, which is similar to the tabbed layout in sway. Do you plan to add stacking mode as a default mode alongside floating and tiling modes?

Also sway allows you to minimize the size of the tabs. Here, for example, are 3 windows and only a blue indicator at the top of the screen, which helps with orientation between tabs:

This is very useful for increasing the work surface, especially for laptops.

So, I think it would be nice to give users the ability to customize the appearance of the tabs. For example, I'd prefer to hide the tabs altogether, and instead have a pop-up indicator when I start switching between tabs. Others might want to see some small indicator all the time, like in my screenshot. Or full tabs with window names, as is done now.

Thanks for your work, cosmic looks simple, fast, but at the same time very functional unlike GNOME. I think this is what people really need.
