I'd love to have simple instructions for getting this up and running on Heroku or other PaaS system that supports python.

Heroku even has a Solr add-on: https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/websolr

Exists Heroku free instance for example implement?

Yes, you can use up to 750 hours for free each month on heroku.

They also have a free PostgresSQL database plan, where you can have up to 10.000 rows.

That would be great. Today we are working on an automatized installation using fabric.
The idea is generate some templates to easy install plug & play instances on other plataforms... maybe Heroku must be included.

Bmann have you experiencie with Heroku?
