[Bug] "?" and "/" forward backward search not working as expected

pressing / and ? has unexpected behaviour

Steps to reproduce

1. open Notepad with text
2. press /, the "Find" window opens and I can enter a search term.
3. press / again, the search is repeated

I would expect the search to be repeated using the n (forward) and p (backward) keys.
Pressing / should open the Find window again.
Feature request:
The / and ? keys should be usable as motions, e.g.
v/hello should visually select the text until the next occurrence of the word hello
