Are you already using OGCS?
2.11.2.0

Describe the question you have
Hello, a few differnt queries - have just dicovered your program and it seems very helpful so far - however, sometimes when I'm trying to set up a sync from our Outlook Cal I get the below dialog box. I don't understand what it's saying, so could you inform me please? The actual problem seems to be that the program can't access the Outlook calendar, even though it is def in our Outlook calendar, and then the 'from' setting re-defaults to a different calendar, which if you don't catch it then syncs the wrong calendar again.. could you enlighten me please?

Also - any plans to sync further into the future? As an educational business we plan up to 2 years ahead.. which brings me to next query - having set up the calendars to sync and set the 'when' tab to push events and update every 2 hours, can I safely assume that new events entered in Outlook will indeed be synced without the need to manually re-sync the calendars (to add, we have 10 Outlook calendars that we want to sync to Google, so setting up each one each time would take a bit of time)

And thanks for doing this - seems remarkable that MS don't have this sorted.. pizza and beer on the way!

Many thanks, Chris Cawte

Hi @chriscawte, that error message essentially means that something has gone wrong whilst communicating with the items in the Outlook calendar - it could happen for any number of reasons. Have a read through reporting problems, specifically the part about providing your log file, as I will need that to identify the root cause.

Your question about the date range to sync is covered in the wiki - the limit of a year is intentional and there are no plans to change that. If it's really a problem for you, then the restriction is removed if you use your own Google API keys (under "Show advanced/developer options" on the Google settings tab), but configuring this is rather technical and beyond the scope of support I can provide.

Scheduling push sync and 2 hourly sync for 10 calendars seems possibly overkill, but yes, there would be no need to manually trigger a sync with that configuration. Push sync detects changes in Outlook and syncs them within 2 minutes plus you are then also doing a scheduled sync every 2 hours regardless of changes being made.

Same problem over here. After switching to a now corporate Portable PC with increased security, I get the same error message like Chris. My assumption is that the C drive is no longer accessible for tools (unless you activate AdminByRequest tool, but you can't link that to the OGCS...
bye now

@HugoGeel If you are getting "COM object is separated from its underlying RCW object", it is unlikely to be due to PC security or C drive access.

/edit I see you've raised #2074, for which the log file confirms it is unrelated to this issue.
