Soon, we want to use the subscription capabilities that Rune supports; in particular, things like storage read should also subscribe if they are ultimately watched.

I don't think this should be done in #454 proper, lest we delay its merging any further. Merging #454 before this will still have DX benefits, especially around the fluent api.
