GrapheneOS Notifications

Hello, I have just fixed notifications on my phone using GrapheneOS!

Although this issue isn't on Session's end - I thought it might be helpful to others using the same de-googled ROM's considering the user-base of Session.

For those who don't know, Session on android offers:
Slow Notifications: notifications only arrive when the app is open.
Fast Notifications: notifications arrive regardless - but uses googles FCM - IP leak

Without any form of Play services (vanilla degoogled ROM) fast notifications are disabled, regardless of what you choose.

GrapheneOS allows the creation of sandboxed Google Play Services, you have to enable that:

App Drawer (swipe up from home screen) > Apps > Sandboxed Google Play services > Install
(I believe LineageOS and CalyxOS offer GApps instead)

I have noticed a lot of complaints about notifications from reddit, youtube comments etc, my theory is that these people are either using just the desktop app [only slow notifications] or vanilla degoogled android phones.

It might be helpful to put a tutorial/warning on the F-Droid repo, as this is where most degooglers will be downloading it from/ a google services detection system in the app itself with a warning about notifications if not installed.

Ideally there would be a way of circumventing google altogether, incorporating something similar to Tutanota's Notification system, but I am happy with this compromise .

I would also really like the ability to group call & start the app in system tray (minimized) on desktop, this is a separate topic but I thought I should mention it!
