Right at this moment, I'm trying to learn about headless mode in Firefox, because it is referenced in many blog posts and Stack Overflow answers. However, there seems to be no article for it anymore, just a 404 on MDN.
I sort of understand the justification for removing Firefox-specific references from MDN. On the other hand, the topic of testing and automation (at least in a browser-agnostic sense) seems like a good fit for MDN.
That aside, there's the issue of links breaking. They don't break by themselves, although it's easy to imagine how it would happen if there are more people changing documentation than there are monitoring server logs for 404s—which is probably the case. No judgements, though, it's a tough job fighting the forces of chaos and entropy!
Would it not be possible to create 301 redirects though? Can someone provide me with suggestions for where the old "Headless mode" document (or some updated form of it) should go, for the purpose of creating that redirect?
I can't tell if "headless mode" is now called "Marionette" or if that's something else entirely, but perhaps the new home should be the Firefox Source Docs repository? It seems weird to put that in a documentation repository that's ostensibly about building Firefox from source, but that's where a lot of DevTools and related documentation seems to be, and I don't see any other ready options.
