Calendar platform: expose delete_event and update_event actions, include uid in get_events

Feature request

The calendar platform currently only exposes calendar.create_event and calendar.get_events as actions. There is no way to programmatically delete or update calendar events.

The frontend can delete events via the WebSocket command calendar/event/delete, but this is not exposed as a service/action and is not accessible via the REST API.

Additionally, the calendar.get_events service (called via POST /api/services/calendar/get_events?return_response) does not return the uid field for events. However, the REST endpoint GET /api/calendars/<entity_id>?start=...&end=... does return uid. This inconsistency makes it impossible to identify events for deletion/update even if those actions existed.

Expected behavior

1. calendar.delete_event and calendar.update_event should be available as actions, accepting entity_id and uid (and updated fields for update).
2. calendar.get_events should return uid in its response, consistent with the REST GET endpoint.

Use case

I import work shifts from a Google Sheets document into a local_calendar via an n8n workflow. When shifts change, I need to clear the existing events for a given month and re-import them. Without delete_event as an action, the only workaround is directly manipulating the .ics file and reloading the integration — which is fragile and undocumented.

This would also benefit anyone using calendars as structured logs (e.g., logging appliance runs, doorbell events, cleaning sessions) who needs to clean up or correct entries programmatically.

I agree 100% - in many cases you need to not just create events, but keep them in "sync" with/for automations - and this is impossible if you can't delete or modify events...

I’m frustrated trying to find a way to delete and edit calendar events in Home Assistant through automation, and it turns out there’s no feature to delete or edit events in the calendar. I hope the developers add this feature soon.

Thanks, this matches our use case exactly.

As a current workaround, for local_calendar we directly manipulate the underlying .ics file and then reload the Local Calendar config entry. In our case we do two variants:

• bulk cleanup for a given month by removing matching VEVENTs from the ICS before re-importing
• single-occurrence exclusion for recurring events by inserting an EXDATE

So it works, but it is obviously fragile, undocumented, and specific to local_calendar internals rather than the calendar building block itself.

That is exactly why having first-class delete_event / update_event actions, plus uid returned by calendar.get_events, would be much cleaner and more generally useful.
