We're currently running our vagrant tests in macOS runners since they have vagrant and libvirt installed.

However, recently they have begin to fail randomly, did Github change the size and/or capabilities of these runners?

The guest machine entered an invalid state while waiting for it
to boot. Valid states are 'starting, running'. The machine is in the
'gurumeditation' state. Please verify everything is configured
properly and try again.

This PR essentially updated VirtualBox 4 days ago: actions/runner-images#8653 Vagrant uses VirtualBox as backend on the macos-12 runners... maybe that is related?

Thanks for the update, it appears that it has now been merged, however the builds are still failing.

still failing. on macos-latest, using the vagrant box ubuntu/bionic64 box i get the gurumeditation error. With hashicorp/bionic64 I seem to get The hosted runner encountered an error while running your job. (Error Type: Disconnect).

looks like box ubuntu/jammy64 "works" (but fails for my application due to OS changes, which is on me). So perhaps something out of date with bionic? Anyway I guess I have a way forward.

jammy64 failed (after a few tries of succeeding) with the same gurumeditation state.

vagrant up --debug is not helpful. vagrant waits and waits and waits and finally the system is in gurumeditation mode. Somewhere someone said "gurumeditation is always a VirtualBox bug"
