Can't use github copilot in browser

I get an error after each message I send. Basically, I can't use github copilot

I have the github student developer pack for now.
I can use it in the mobile app though.

I've seen this happen a few times with Copilot in the browser, especially for accounts using the GitHub Student Developer Pack.

A couple of things to try:

• Make sure you're logged into the same GitHub account that's linked to your student pack and Copilot subscription.
• Clear browser cache or try in incognito mode (it sometimes fixes weird token/auth issues).
• Check if any browser extensions are blocking websocket connections or third-party scripts (Adblock, uBlock, etc.).
• Try signing out and back in — sounds basic, but it’s worked for me when Copilot broke temporarily.

Also, Copilot on mobile works differently (less integration, more fallback), so the fact that it works there doesn't always mean the browser version is fine.

If none of that helps, try checking the browser console (F12 > Console tab) for errors — it might show a specific issue like auth failure or a blocked request.

Looks like the error toSpliced is not a function means the browser doesn’t yet support this new JS method.

Make sure you’re on the latest browser version (Chrome 112+, Firefox 112+, etc). Enabling Experimental Web Platform Features in chrome://flags might help as well.

If you’re on an older browser or version, Copilot’s web app can break like this until they patch it.

I am on an old version. Using windows 7.
turniing on the Experimental Web Platform Feature didn't help.

Same issue here. I'm stuck on an old version of Chrome in order to keep some of the manifest v2 extensions working.
