Hey hey! 👋 Reporting in for a New to GitHub Community Check-In 🗞️

⚡​​ First Project Spotlight!

Meet @Lod34 and their adventure RPG, Scoundrels-Kingdom ⚔️

Scoundrels Kingdom, @Lod34’s first serious project, is an adventure RPG set in a fantasy kingdom full of magic, intrigue and dark secrets. Players explore a vast open world, navigate complex political power games, and face tactical challenges against mystical creatures and cunning enemies.

Here’s what @Lod34 had to say about their project:

“What inspired me to start a project like Scoundrels' Kingdom was a game that became popular among my friends: Survivor.io. I thought, "What if this game were online, open-world, with an RPG style like Dark Souls? Wouldn't that be awesome?". That’s how the project began.
As I mentioned before, I gathered a few of my programmer friends, and we started from the basics. However, one of the biggest challenges, and still an issue today, is the procedural generation of the map. At first, I couldn’t even get it to work. Then I realized it would also be tricky to modify, especially if I wanted to make something "semi-procedural."
For now, we’ve put the procedural generation on hold, but once the game is finished, we might revisit it to enhance the project.
Despite these challenges, I continue to love the development process and seeing progress every day gives me great satisfaction. My friends and I are just high school students, but we have a bit of an edge: we study robotics and computer science, which gives us a solid foundation for exploring the world of development and technology. We’re also passionate about 3D printing and software development.
Although we’re still young and learning, we put all our effort into what we do. We may not yet know where this project will take us, but we’re excited to keep creating and learning along the way.“

Meet @joe-mccarthy and their project, night-sky-pi 🌃

Night Sky Pi is a camera that takes images throughout the night currently from sunset till sunrise. These images are then zipped then the application waits for the next observation period. Along with the images that are taken there are supporting JSON files for each image with additional information.

These data files currently contain the exposure and observation information for the image, allowing for processing off device later.

Meet @ThisIs-Developer and their project, Llama-2-GGML-Medical-Chatbot 🗣️

The Llama-2-GGML-Medical-Chatbot is built using the Llama-2-7B-Chat-GGML model, a sophisticated large language model (LLM) fine-tuned for specific tasks. This chatbot is trained on The Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine, a thorough medical reference containing over 600 pages of detailed information.

The bot's primary functions include:
Answering Medical Queries: Responding to various medical questions.
