Yes, that's a great idea! Having starred repositories organized into folders or pinned sections would make GitHub much more convenient for users to manage and access their most important repositories. |

Having "lists" be essentially "categised stars" is unintuitive. It feels like a feature that's been added in a way to make use of existing code rather than a feature added to solve a problem. I want to star, or not star, repos, and I want lists - that have nothing to do with stars - for repos. If the 'star' functionality is to be extended then maybe something as simple as adding tags to stars. So you can star something, and qualify that star with "favourite", "useful", "educational", "amazing", "fun" - whatever. |
