Github checkmark states are very hard to see for colorblind

I'm not sure if and when the checkmarks look has been updated, but the difference between the following two elements is very hard for me to see:

• Checked
• Unchecked

It would be much better if the checked color was blue or perhaps some bright gray. Red and dark gray really don't work well together for me.

EDIT: The weird thing is that the problem only occurs in preview mode, which renders the checkboxes like this:

In non-preview for some reason the checkboxes are rendered differently, and much better for me:

But not on on issues pages such as:

Perhaps fix this inconsistency and please use the better variant

I tried all dark themes, including the color blind friendly ones, but none of those actually fixed the checkbox issue for me. Those colors remained the same.

Hello @MarByteBeep - there have been some updates to the checkbox component recently. Could you re-test the checkbox color contrast issue to see if it is now resolved for you?
