Releasing a final version would presumably break the package for business users as well, as then there is no longer a valid installer to cache. I'd suggest simply unlisting the packages, as per the guidance I'd give any maintainer in this situation. |

Brand new user to Chocolatey here (newb). I just found Chocolatey, and figured this would be a good way to auto-update all of my WIndows junk that never gets updated. The third package I tried installing was flashplayerplugin and it failed. Not a good start. Can we fix the public facing Flash scripts to point to the CDN version of the files? How about to the Internet Archive version? I already have it installed manually.. but of course, the whole point of using Chocolatey is to be able to keep everything in one neatly wrapped box. As I said, I'm an absolute newb at Chocolatey, so I have no idea about the in place procedures. Am I going to run in to the same thing with Picasa and other end-of-life packages? Is there a recommended way to deal with these, or a way to filter them out in the GUI/website? |

Packages are downloading
end-of-life-alternatives.html
instead of the binaries.flashplayerplugin
:flashplayerpapi
:I'm assuming
flashplayeractivex
is also affected.Note that these work for the business editions (using the CDN).
flashplayerplugin
:flashplayerppapi
:This doesn't work for FOSS users and should we be more explicit in the packages (releasing a final version).
