Summary of Changes
Hello @c-r33d, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request enhances the Key Access Server (KAS) by exposing key provider configuration details through the KeyDetails interface and the key indexer. This change allows consumers of key details to retrieve specific configuration information related to a key's provider, such as its ID, name, and any custom configuration JSON, improving the discoverability and utility of key metadata.
Highlights
- KeyDetails Interface Extension: The
trust.KeyDetailsinterface has been extended to include a newProviderConfig() *policy.KeyProviderConfigmethod. This standardizes the way key provider configuration details can be accessed across the system. - Key Indexer Integration: The
KeyAdapterinservice/kas/key_indexer.gonow implements the newProviderConfigmethod. This allows the Key Access Server (KAS) to expose the associated provider configuration for indexed keys, retrieving it from the underlying key object. - Test Infrastructure Updates: Various mock implementations (
MockKeyDetails, fakeKeyDetails) and test suites acrossservice/internal/security/basic_manager_test.go,service/kas/access/publicKey_test.go,service/kas/access/rewrap_test.go, andservice/trust/delegating_key_service_test.gohave been updated to reflect the newProviderConfigmethod and its associated data structures. - Provider Configuration Data Verification: The
service/kas/key_indexer_test.gonow includes test cases that explicitly set and assert the presence ofConfigJsonwithin thepolicy.KeyProviderConfig, confirming that detailed provider configuration can be correctly stored, retrieved, and exposed.

Code Review
The code changes introduce the ability to expose provider configuration from key details and indexer. This includes adding a ProviderConfig method to the KeyDetails interface and implementing it in various parts of the codebase. The changes also include adding necessary protobuf imports and updating tests to reflect the new functionality.
