1.) The update subject mapping test is currently flaky, add a debug log and asserts to ensure that the necessary fixtures are created first.

Note

It's probable this happens again, but at least we will have some debug logs to figure out what is going on. The error was that the subject condition set was not always being created before trying to update to it.

Summary of Changes

Hello @c-r33d, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request resolves a flakiness problem observed in the end-to-end test for updating subject mappings. The changes enhance the test's reliability by incorporating explicit checks to confirm the successful setup of test data and by adding a debug output to assist in future diagnostics of any unexpected behavior.

Highlights

  • Test Flakiness Fix: Addressed a flakiness issue in the 'Update a subject mapping' end-to-end test by ensuring necessary fixtures are created and validated.
  • Improved Test Assertions: Introduced explicit 'assert' statements to verify the successful creation of subject mappings and additional subject condition sets, making the test more robust.
  • Debug Logging: Added a debug log to aid in troubleshooting and diagnosing intermittent failures in the subject mapping update test.

Summary of Changes

Hello @c-r33d, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request aims to improve the reliability of the update subject mapping end-to-end test. It resolves flakiness by ensuring that prerequisite data, such as subject mappings and subject condition sets, are correctly established and verified before the update operation is performed. Additionally, a debug log has been added to assist with future diagnostic efforts.

Highlights

  • Test Stability: Enhanced the "Update a subject mapping" test by adding explicit assertions to verify the successful creation of created and additional_scs fixtures, addressing flakiness by ensuring prerequisites are met.
  • Debugging: Introduced a debug log (echo "$output" >&2) within the "Update a subject mapping" test to aid in troubleshooting, specifically referencing DSPX-1873.

Code Review

This pull request aims to fix a flaky test in e2e/subject-mapping.bats by adding assertions to verify fixture creation. The changes are a good step towards making the test more robust. I've provided a couple of suggestions to further improve the test's reliability and readability. Specifically, I've pointed out a missing success assertion and suggested combining some assertions for conciseness.
