From 3cc1b8d1cef921987bb521199b70c95170b61b86 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Justin Pierce Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2023 11:20:41 -0500 Subject: [PATCH] Allow kernel to be sourced from the ART plashet OpenShift and RHEL have come to an agreement whereby OCP will be able to release the RHEL kernel before the normal 6 week cadence of RHEL. https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHELPLAN-144928 tracks this agreement. https://issues.redhat.com/browse/ART-5663 discussed ART/RHCOS agreement on how this would be handled at the pipeline level. The decision was to remove the constraint requiring the kernel to be source from baseos exclusively. By doing so, it ART has a more recent kernel build in its repository, it will be preferred. --- manifest.yaml | 4 ---- 1 file changed, 4 deletions(-) diff --git a/manifest.yaml b/manifest.yaml index 7d2301c92..992adc193 100644 --- a/manifest.yaml +++ b/manifest.yaml @@ -271,10 +271,6 @@ packages: - conntrack-tools repo-packages: - # we always want the kernel from BaseOS - - repo: rhel-8.4-baseos - packages: - - kernel # we want the one shipping in RHEL, not the equivalently versioned one in RHAOS - repo: rhel-8.4-appstream packages:
