* We only need the functionality in `-levent_core`
* We can avoid a potential conflict with other software (e.g., LSF) that
also ship a `libevent` that is unrelated.
- Add a check in the LSF configure check just in case there is a `-levent`
in the `LIBS` (possibly specified by the user before configure) so we
emit a helpful warning message about the potential for a conflict.
