Suggestion to convert the code to C++ for performance improvement #19

Given the C++ has a better performance on processing data, I'd like to suggest the conversion for this platform.

I forked the repository and did a conversion, and could notice a performance of 2.5x.

Here you have the code to be used as base. I also can contribute in this conversion/testing.
