Description field as part of the schema instead of comment

Is it possible (how?) to have descriptions in the schema instead of as a comment?

For example, say I have this snippet from an OpenAPI spec

"paths": {
    "/api/abc": {
        "get": {
                "summary": "ABC",
                "description": "Does something to get ABC",

The resulting schema looks something like this

export interface paths {
    "/api/ABC": {
        /**
         * ABC
         * @description Does something to get ABC
         */
    };

But what I want is something like this

export interface paths {
    "/api/ABC": {
        description?: string
    };

This would allow me to programatically retrieve the description.

Note: I would be looking to do this for all descriptions in the spec such as the description strings for parameters.
