  • Requires that all components included in distributions are properly tagged.
  • Establishes that any misalignments with new requirements need to be addressed within one month

Relates to open-telemetry/opentelemetry-ebpf-profiler/issues/513

cc @open-telemetry/collector-contrib-approvers I intend to merge this in one week unless there are objections before then

@open-telemetry/ebpf-profiler-approvers This would affect you and mean you have to start tagging your module to continue being included in distributions from this repository (see open-telemetry/opentelemetry-ebpf-profiler#513). If you have concerns about this please let me know before I merge this, thanks!

With the merge of open-telemetry/opentelemetry-ebpf-profiler#520 profiling will start to auto-tag versions to show development on a monthly base, starting July 1st.
