When calculating an undulator in polychromatic mode,
is not possible to add the effect of Energy spread. This option works only for monochromatic source. Polychromatic source with energy spread is left for future development. Set Energy Spread=No:
Watch out for the parameters for sampling the source size. If the internal code is used, the "Source for backpropagation" = "Reused (from polar)" has a BUG. Please use "Recalculated", it is also more accurate (so recommended for general use)!
If using backpropagation for sampling the source size, as we do, it is convenient to have a look at the Undulator Plots/Backpropagated radiation. It looks quite strange a it has unphysical side rings:
You can play with the magnification and weight it to remove the side peaks:
This setup gives a reasonable ray distributions:
