When playing music with TIDAL, when the track changes, the volume resets to max.

Steps to reproduce:
Setup a slider to adjust the TIDAL app. Adjust the volume to below 100%. Play a song. It will reset the volume to 100%.

Same thing occurs when it auto plays onto the next track, or even just searching through a single track manually.

Expected behavior:

For the volume to remain at the set volume below 100% no matter what actions are taken in the TIDAL app.

Additional context:

This is in Windows 11, latest version of TIDAL.

I don't use Tidal, but does this also happen when you change the volume manually (in Windows, not in Tidal)?

  • Right click the speaker icon in the system tray
  • Open volume mixer
  • Move the Tidal volume slider down (when moving the pcpanel you should be able to see which one moves)
  • See if it moves back in the same situations

If it does move back, the best I could do is either see if there are Tidal API's to control the Tidal volume (which would be a shame to have to make) or add an option to force the volume back (which would also not be ideal as you would still have a moment where the volume would go up). The best course of action would then be to report a bug to Tidal.

If the volume does not get reset when you do it manually I'll see if there is anything that can be done differently to fix it.

Same thing occurs when I use the windows volume mixer to adjust tidal, so it looks like it's a bug on their end. I will submit a bug report with tidal then. Probably best to have it resolved on their end.
Thanks for the input!

@ris3nda3mon just thought id chime in and mention i also had this issue with Tidal - I submitted a bug report months ago and they basically shrugged me off. This has been reported to them multiple times, earliest in 2018. This issue is not getting fixed anytime soon. See this thread: File-New-Project/EarTrumpet#313
