Porting 7 and 8.1 themes to 10/11

Hello, are there any guides on porting 7 or 8.1 themes to 10/11? I tried applying the default 8.1 theme and it caused a black screen with a blinking cursor. What changes should I make to make the theme compatible with 10/11?

I don't have any. Never searched for one either.

It is probably very tedious and msstyleEditor is not well equipped for this task yet. There was a similar question a while ago, but stayed unresolved: #57

The main thing is likely that Windows 10 and 11 have more classes than Win 7 and 8. And msstyleEditor can't create them nor copy whole property trees over to another style. The second part is something i might implement at some point: #104
