Walkthrough

The Makefile's test-agents-prereqs target was updated to install both @grpc/grpc-js and @grpc/[email protected] packages in the test/common/nsolid-grpc-agent directory, using the --no-save --no-package-lock flags. No public interface or exported entity declarations were changed.

Poem

In the warren where Makefiles dwell,
A rabbit hops with news to tell:
New proto-loader joins the crew,
With grpc-js, dependencies grew!
No package lock, no save in sight—
The agent tests will run just right.

Chat

There are 3 ways to chat with CodeRabbit:

  • Review comments: Directly reply to a review comment made by CodeRabbit. Example:
    • I pushed a fix in commit <commit_id>, please review it.
    • Explain this complex logic.
    • Open a follow-up GitHub issue for this discussion.
  • Files and specific lines of code (under the "Files changed" tab): Tag @coderabbitai in a new review comment at the desired location with your query. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai explain this code block.
  • PR comments: Tag @coderabbitai in a new PR comment to ask questions about the PR branch. For the best results, please provide a very specific query, as very limited context is provided in this mode. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai gather interesting stats about this repository and render them as a table. Additionally, render a pie chart showing the language distribution in the codebase.
    • @coderabbitai read src/utils.ts and explain its main purpose.
    • @coderabbitai read the files in the src/scheduler package and generate a class diagram using mermaid and a README in the markdown format.

1698-1699: Pin exact patch version & consider --ignore-scripts for reproducible, safer installs

@grpc/[email protected] leaves the patch component floating, so any future 0.7.x release could suddenly break CI.
Recommend pinning the full version that is known to work (e.g. 0.7.5) and, unless the agent really needs post-install hooks, append --ignore-scripts just like you did for the ZeroMQ agent to harden the pipeline.

Example diff:

-env npm_config_nodedir=$(PWD) $(NODE) ./deps/npm install @grpc/grpc-js @grpc/[email protected] --prefix test/common/nsolid-grpc-agent --no-save --no-package-lock
+env npm_config_nodedir=$(PWD) $(NODE) ./deps/npm install @grpc/grpc-js @grpc/[email protected] --prefix test/common/nsolid-grpc-agent --no-save --no-package-lock --ignore-scripts
