Why does the project contain _stream_* (importable) aliases to parts of the Stream? Each of these segments is just an alias to another part of the stream. These files haven't been used internally since #36684, could they be deprecated, or removed?

In the original PR, @mcollina stated:

We do not deprecate the old modules to avoid disrupition and ease
maintainance.

But that was 4 years ago, I doubt too many people are still relying on these long-legacy features.
