I use v2.18 on Hawei P9 lite, Android 7.0 since September 2018 and it worked fine.

Some days ago no RSS feeds are found anymore. I don't remember changing the configuration.

The app didn't asks for permission so none are granted. The feeds list is still filled, some entries are selected and at the end some empty lines are listed.

Am I the only one affected?

Hi anna. I already had the problem what you describe. My problem was that some RSS messages are not delivered correctly from the sources. Some of it is content that is not just image and text and is needed by the sources for their own apps. But sometimes they are also stupid typos in a single RSS message. Such "broken" single messages will not be transmitted after a few correct new ones, so this bug may fix itself. The blank lines you describe indicate that a source is delivering news feeds that are very different from the RSS standard.

During the development of the app, I also discovered that the news providers' time data was incorrect. Both the time zone and the formatting can be wrong or vary greatly from reality. My app already tries to recognize many date formats and to compensate other errors - but unfortunately this is not always possible :-(

It can happen that AnotherRSS doesn't pick up further news because of the time setting of the mobile phone and a wrong time indication of the RSS feed source (technically: the server), because it thinks the news comes from the future.

Possible troubleshooting: Even if you don't like it, but if you often get empty messages from a feed source, don't use them anymore. If your error is caused by the time problems described above (and your time zone and time is set correctly in your phone), try an update interval of 6 hours (instead of every 30 minutes or every hour) for a period of 2 days.

Thanks for the fast responds!

Sorry, I wasn't precisely enough: the empty lines I talked about are in the source list. I really get not a single message in the feed-list, it always says "(still) no feeds available". And the sources are from different servers so I don't think it is a time-stamp or delivery problem.

How can I test if my time and time zone is really correct? The clock looks fine for me.

I just changed to 6h period but I don't thing this helps.

Hi anna. You wrote "..and it worked fine.", and that's why I thought you meant the app ;-)

The 5 empty lines at the end of the feed-list is normal. It is just for adding new sources quick. Someone else with a phone from the same manufacturer had the same problem as you: He didn't get a single news feed. Unfortunately, I could only tell him that I am very sorry. Since I don't own such a phone, I can't not reproduce the error :-(

The app doesn't need any further rights: Access to the network function and to the internet access is a right that Android grants to every app. This is even the case in Android 8.1. Because AnotherRSS uses an internal alarm service that sleeps permanently in the background, an energy-saving function of the phone manufacturer could cause problems. You may have a function active that completely shuts down an application while it sleeps. I don't know where to find this function in the mobile settings to switch this off :-(

In the settings of AnotherRSS there is the item "offline/retry hint" which could help. If you don't get a notification (after 6 hours) when you select it, then something is really wrong and you have to get another app than AnotherRSS :-( But if you get one or more hints, this helps me to find the error ;-)

I hope I was able to help you a little. Maybe we'll find the bug.

My fault: I meant it worked fine until some days ago no RSS feeds are found anymore.

Energy saving is not disabled for AnotherRSS but that's not necessary for me because it's enough if AnotherRSS is updated after start.

I can't find the "offline/retry hint". Do you mean "offline notes" (synchronization notifications and hints)? That's activated but says nothing.

I appreciate your willing to help. When I found the problem, I will tell you the solution.
