Some non-terminal savvy users have the need for symbolic links to have a file appear in multiple places, but as the folder is synced between various computers absolute paths are a no-no. Is there any hope of seeing this supported somehow in this tool?

How do you propose this would be done? Keep in mind that the app has no GUI, and can't have a GUI because having a GUI would cause it to steal away the Finder's key window.
See my fork for a possible way to do this — if you hold the control key while triggering the service, you'll be prompted for a relative symbolic link location. (Needless to say, this can go wrong if a user assigns an interfering keyboard shortcut to the service.)
Also, hi Nick! I've been a fan of SymbolicLinker for 10 years, give or take. Please think of my version as fan fiction, even though I'm pretty sure you'll hate my code formatting. And you'll probably also hate the concept of making SymbolicLinker a LSUIElement app, but that was the easiest way for me to add a preference window. ;)
