I compared the speed of gameplay with videos on youtube: is it just my impression or does the MiST NES Core run "too fast"?

You need to make sure the video system matches as some games adopt their speed via the video timing. E.g. running the pal (50 hz) version of mario on a ntsc system (60 hz) will make the entire game run 20% too fast. Maybe that's your problem?

I'm using an image called SuperMarioBrosEurope. How do I change PAL/NTSC system?

Trying "World" or "USA" version the speed comes normal. Is there a way to use "Europe" titles with normal speed?
