💡 Summary

Misskey users are able to remote follow an account on Minds, but no posts from the followed account appear in the Misskey timeline.

🥰 Expected Behavior

After successfully following a remote user from Minds their Posts should appear in the "Home" timeline on the local Misskey Instance.

🤬 Actual Behavior

The remote follow appears to complete successfully as the Misskey user will show up as a Subscriber on Minds, but the remote Minds user does not show in the "following" list under the local Misskey profile.

Also, no Posts from the remote Minds user appear in the "Home" timeline.

However, the Minds Server is shown when searching the "Federation" tab in "Instance information". But it shows no activity and no Error in the Job Queue or Bull Dashboard.

📝 Steps to Reproduce

Go to "Search" in the left navigation pane.
Select "Users"
Click "Remote" radio button
Enter name of desired user on Minds eg. @[email protected] (my test acct.)
The user appears, and the follow works on Minds, but the Misskey server gets stuck on "Processing".

I'd like to confirm that you are expecting both of:

  1. the Minds.com service to deliver articles (?) on their server to your Misskey server
  2. see Minds.com sarticles (?) on your server's timeline.

However it might depend on server and its version, did you use above server to try to receive articles from their server?

Note: Minds.com はActivityPubのサポートを表明しています。ドキュメント → https://developers.minds.com/docs/decentralization/activitypub/

The article you shared also lists criteria that need to met for federation to work: https://developers.minds.com/docs/decentralization/activitypub/#why-are-my-posts-not-showing-up-on-other-networks

I would also like to share with you that Minds support told me that their federation works with poast & mastodon. And that they have seen similar issues in the past with Misskey.

"Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

Minds does have a functional implementation of ActivityPub – I’ve seen successful integrations with sites like poa.st and various Mastodon instances.

It seems the issues you’re experiencing are specific to Misskey. We’ve received similar reports in the past, but unfortunately, we don’t have the resources to investigate this further at the moment. However, Minds is open source, and if you have the knowledge or interest, you’re welcome to contribute here: https://gitlab.com/minds.

Best,
Bashy
Minds Support"
