I tried to download an imgur subreddit gallery but it seems this doesn't work
for e.g.
if I use this type of links
https://imgur.com/r/sadcats

It shows the following output

gallery-dl -d './Imgur' https://imgur.com/r/sadcats/new --verbose
[gallery-dl][debug] Version 1.11.1
[gallery-dl][debug] Python 3.7.5 - Windows-10-10.0.18362
[gallery-dl][debug] requests 2.22.0 - urllib3 1.25.6
[gallery-dl][debug] Starting DownloadJob for 'https://imgur.com/r/sadcats'
[gallery-dl][debug] Updating urllib3 ciphers
[gallery-dl][error] No suitable extractor found for 'https://imgur.com/r/sadcats'

is this expected?
or the feature hasn't been implemented yet?

Yes, expected, because I think that has not been implemented yet.

Frankly, I don't see the point. These "subreddit" feeds on Imgur have the same content as their corresponding "real subreddits" on Reddit (sans stuff hosted not on Imgur, obviously), so what do you expect do download here? Why not download directly from the subreddit with the Reddit extractor?

And with recent changes on Imgur, I suspect that many of these /r feeds have been removed, at least the NSFW ones.

Edit:
A bit of background, at least as far as I am aware:
These subreddit feeds on Imgur come from back then when Imgur and Reddit have been very close partners, and basically every content appearing on Reddit (which was primarily image files at the time. Videos have been YouTube embeds) was hosted on Imgur. But this has obviously changed, and nowadays the most content on Reddit, images as well as videos, are hosted by Reddit themselves.

Ah Understood

I thought imgur galleries might also contain the media links for archived reddit posts
But I think that's not the case

Thanks for the info
