Whereas the AmeNote ProtoZOA has firmware (the "Software") operating on two processors, labeled as MAIN and UUT:
The source code for the Software running on the MAIN and UUT processors has several origins:
- Open Source - some components of the Software are open source, used and distributed under certain open source licenses.
- AmeNote - some components of the Software are the intellectual property of AmeNote, Inc.
- MA and/or AMEI, Public - Members of the MIDI Association and/or the Association of Music Electronics Industry may contribute components to the Software. Contributors must agree to the terms defined in the Contribution Agreement and add their name to the list of contributors.
OR
- Is a member of the Public and will conform to the policies of MIDI2.dev
The License in Section 3 is granted to any organization which:
- Is currently a paid, Commercial Member of the MIDI Association and/or the Association of Music Electronics Industry, and
- Which is covered by and agrees to the intellectual property agreements and confidentiality policies of the MIDI Association and/or the Association of Music Electronics Industry, and
- Which purchases the ProtoZOA from AmeNote Inc. or has been supplied the ProtoZOA by the MIDI Association or the Association of Musical Electronics Industry.

- Is a member of the Public and will conform to the licenses as outlined in the individual contributions and generally by MIDI2.dev.
