The intent is to keep them in sync, but more recent changes removed some of the code that pydevd uses for packaging. It was relying on dlls/so files being in the repository and we can't do that in shipping Microsoft code. I haven't figured out a workaround for Pydevd yet, so we've been holding off on merging. |

Hi!
I'm asking this question as the Debian developer primarily responsible for packaging pydevd and debugpy.
Since a7d5a7e (closing #1714), pydevd has been linked to the upstream version using git-subrepo. However, in the last two months, since debugpy 1.8.12 was released, there have been 5 commits modifying the debugpy copy of pydevd, but I haven't seen these appearing in the upstream repo. Is the intention still to push them back there, or are the debugpy copy of pydevd and upstream going to diverge once again?
Best wishes,
Julian
