An instance of a class doesn't show its variables

In my project all instances of a particular class (Data) do not show their contents

hm, actually all locals appear as bound method with no local state

Is this expected under certain conditions? Or should I look for some clues in the logs?

It would help if you could share the type for the object you're trying to expand, but generally debugpy gets the __dict__ attribute for any object and uses that to find children.

ok, I will check if there is anything to be done in the upstream to allow this.
The object I was trying to have a debug entry on is of this class https://gist.github.com/hellt/ec0cab7f9bc29b4319b64d1e7c856324

and when doing print(dir(data)) it indeed throws in an exception
