Which version of the app?

WinUI 3 Gallery

Description

When running as administrator, the FilePicker does not seem to work. No Window appears to select a file. This repro's consistently, but only while running as admin.

I tried in both Canary Internal and Dev Internal.

Repro Steps:

  • Open WinUI Gallery as administrator.
  • Navigate to System > FilePicker
  • Click on any of the "Open a ..." buttons. No FilePicker appears.

Check this "In a desktop app that requires elevation".

This is a bug in the SDK, not WinUI Gallery. It was reported over 2 years ago, but has never been fixed, although the GitHub issue is still active with people commenting on it - typical solution is "Move to WPF, it works"

This should be closed as it's not a WinUI Gallery bug ?
