Will remapping work if I change my input language?
Yes it will. Right now if you remap A to B on English (US) keyboard and then change the language setting to French, typing A on the French keyboard (Q on the English US physical keyboard) would result in B, this is consistent with how Windows handles multilingual input.
However I propose to make this configurable. There could be a switcher in settings to turn on/off whether remapping are only local, for the current keyboard setup, or global. For the reason, see the next point.
Scenario when this would be used?
During my day, I have to constantly switch between my Slovak and English keyboard layout as one I use in communication and the second when developing.
It could be easily solved by PowerToys - I'd simply remap few keys and shortcuts (e.g. ``` or ;) and keep using Slovak keyboard.
However sometimes I really do want to switch my keyboard but now my English layout is broken as my "Slovak fixes" affect English layout as well.
