Have you tried Windows Sandbox? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/threat-protection/windows-sandbox/windows-sandbox-overview |
I don't need VM for it. It is too much. |
For this issue, the question becomes "when is it safe" to clean up. That is the nice thing with the sandbox is it will 100% keep stuff clean and you closed the window. re: Always on Top has always been a PowerToy since olden days, one of the new PT's first asks and has constantly been a top ask. #641 for a screenshot. The border idea came from Teams actually when you share a window / screen since we knew we had to have a way of showing what has the AoT flag. If you want to chat, happy to set up a call / email. Description of the new feature / enhancement
Sometimes, during my work, I used to create a folder called "New Folder" and use this folder to host there some files that I am working with... After I finished my work, I delete this folder.
Why I am doing it?
Because my desktop is already full of stuff. So I want a workspace of files, and also because I want to separate my stuff by categories of what I am doing with these stuffs
More specific example:
Let's say that I am testing some program, then the folder I create can be named "Test Program"
and in this folder, I host some stuff like the program versions, logs, and whatever related stuff to the workflow of testing that program.
At the end of the day, I delete this folder.
The thing is sometimes I am lazy and don't delete. And in any case, creating junk folders on the desktop for workflows like that is something that looks ugly.
What I really want is some hotkey / quick-access feature that all it does is:
In this step, I enter the name of the workspace files. For example "Testing cycle 1- MyApp v1"
This is just a dummy example. The thing is that - I am doing some work that is related to the subject of what I am doing. I am doing something about X. The workspace is about X. So I am hosting X stuff inside X workspace.
It is cleaner to have something that gives you a place to work not only about windows but also about files.
Virtual desktops - Solving you the need for more space for windows
Desktop - Solving you the need for stuff that you want to access quickly
But nothing to be known that solves the need for multiple workspace for files/folders
Scenario when this would be used?
This is already explained
