When testing the Interview tool, the audio from my phone came up distorted when I uploaded the interview into the Interview tool on my MAZIzone and then listened back to the audio files from within the Interview application on the Raspberry Pi. The Interview app appeared to work fine on my Android phone (no obvious bugs or issues), and the photo and text synopsis transferred fine to the Interview tool on the MAZI zone.

Do you know what the problem is?

I am running MAZI v2.4.1. My phone is a Motorola Moto G. running Android 4.4.4

When I later use another audio recorder tool on my phone (Sony Audio Recorder v2.00.30) my voice is recorded clearly without this issue, so I know it’s not a physical problem with sound recording on my phone (e.g. broken microphone).

I've retrieved the file from the phone, so I am guessing the issue is happening in the Android app on the phone rather than on the linux application on the MAZIzone (Raspberry Pi)

Perhaps its something to do with the Android version I am running?

thanks for your help and advice in what I can do to fix the problem!

Here's one of the files that came up distorted;

So far we have found:
issues with Android 4.4.4, Android 5
success on Android 6, 7

perhaps it requires Android 6 or above?
