Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Create linked board
  2. For most channel members the linked board is not visible; those channel members, for whom the linked board is visible, are automatically listed as editors in the access permissions list

Expected behavior

The linked board should be visible for all channel members as defined by the general access rules "everyone in team abc is editor" and "everyone in channel xyz is editor".

Edition and Platform

  • Edition: Mattermost Boards (plugin)
  • Version: v8.0.0
  • Mattermost server version: v10.1.2

Additional Context

For some existing linked boards this behaviour changed recently, thus, this issue does also occur for some already existing linked boards without any additional actions done by the board admins in the access permissions list.

Workarounds

  1. Add channel users manually as editors to the access permissions list.
  2. Re-linking the board might help but not reliably for all channel members.

This becomes quite weird since some boards can only be found in the search field for boards. They are then visible again for the user who made the search, while this user is then automatically and redundantly listed in the access permission list.

Thus, each user of a channel needs to search for boards if they want to access them even if the general rule due to the linkage to the channel indicates that the user should be able to access it already, so that the user is automatically listed in the access permission list.

Is this intended behaviour or a bug?
