Is the project dead?

Latest release from September, which was April release.

Almost 50 PRs.

Not sure if I should start using(no point if it's not going to be maintained) it or just look for something else?

I'm just a user so no special knowledge here.

It's now "community supported" but they haven't given any details about a specific community member or group. So, I'm guessing it's dead. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm just a user as well. Although I'm currently using Focalboard for project task tracking, it seems like it's no longer being maintained, so I'm now exploring using Vikunja as an alternative.

Looking through at various alternatives and I found that what they are trying to do with focalboard is really good.
Vikunja has similar functionality but not nearly as good.
I hope they can solve the situation with this soon, and also removing some of the bugs I have found in the personal server version that are connected with user access

If you need an alternative that is very similar, Microsoft Lists preview is really close to the same thing.
I would say it has nearly all of the functionality.
Since Microsoft supports Github, my guess is that they are basing their Lists app off of FocalBoard.
