[BUG] Winget setting "Always run WinGet operations with administrator rights" ignored #3120
Comments
When you say "is ignored", you mean that the package is not elevated at all, or that you see an UAC prompt each time? |
It means I see no UAC prompt. Installation will happen not elevated. Unfortunately most of my installations need elevation. So update/install fails. If I manually use "Install/Update as admin" this works. |
Does this only happen with WinGet? Or other package managers are affected too? (I mean, with their specific settings) |
I only have Winget in use. |
Ok, I will investigate the issue |
I am experiencing the same issue with both winget and chocolatey |
Yes |
Same here, have tried both options for "Enable the new UniGetUI-Branded UAC Elevator" and the Chocolatey manager has "Always run Chocolatey operations with administrator rights" enabled. Worked in previous versions but not as of at least 3.1.5. |
Please confirm these before moving forward
