Looks like we share some common interests: Web filtering. As an old (not only) openwrt-developer I (also) did a simplified clone of openDNS, for some clients of mine, for whom I developed custom openwrt-based hotspot firmware. Clone of openDNS not to pay fees to org openDNS. I also implemented SNI-based filtering using squid, but that needs vast resources on an embedded device, and is some type of overkill just for this purpose.
(BTW: This does not need special cert on client, so it can be done in intercepting/transparent squid.)
Both tasks inspired me to think about an integrated solution, an openwrt-router doing all the filtering by itself, not to rely on other services, because of privacy. And to provide a commercial solution, may be.
When searching for a lightweight SNI-filter, I found your project. And I also read, you are working on an embedded device. May be, we could cooperate in this regard.
In case of interest, please send me a mail to my pseudonym: augustus_meyer AT yahoo DOt de
