How to update A690 firmware

I have a recent X13s running ubuntu, but I have instabilities with the Adreno GPU under Vulkan, and get VK_DEVICE_LOST after a minute or less running an Vulkan game.
I notice on the windows partition that the GPU firmware qcdxkm8280.sys is more recent than the firmware found here (Sep 14 2022), but I see no procedure to extracts the 2 linux firmware from that sys file.

qcdxkm8280.sys is the driver. The firmware is encoded inside it, extracting it unfortunately requires some manual labor. Also note that it's possible that the firmware hasn't been touched and only the driver has been updated.

While I know too little to really give any qualified answer here, I suspect that this is more likely to be a driver issue rather than firmware. I'd suggest you hop on the #aarch64-laptops IRC channel on oftc.net and ping @robclark about it. He's the resident expert on this.

lenovo has pushed the zap fw to linux-firmware. For sqe fw, the same is used as a660 (also in linux-firmware). The gmu fw is an open question but using the a660 gmu fw seems to be working fine for me.
