mali r4p0-01 in Amlogic buildroot are armel framebuffer. Would be nice to see hf userspace drivers (both fb and x11). I'm bugging Amlogic about providing proper libs for some time now. Two weeks ago I asked them to provide armhf libs for all drivers they use in MX and M8 platform, as of yet no reply...

It is so bad that arm don't provide any changelog for drivers :(
But I think that MX and M8 drivers will be compatible as mali400 and 450 are all about more shader units, more cores and that is all :)
no opengles 3.0 :(

http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=4956 I found this in the odroid forums. Does it help?

linux-sunxi distributes mali blobs provided by allwinner, distributing blobs provided completely without license or copied from different vendors with EULA applied may put linux-sunxi in wrong position. everything we have in sunxi-mali were supplied by allwinner.

also, hardkernel r4p0 needs dmabuf and drm enabled.

What are the potential benefits to begin with? Every new mali blob release brings new bugs. We have had enough troubles workarounding the known old bugs. And I'm not sure whether having to deal with the brand new bugs is worth the efforts.
