Support guidelines

I've found a bug and checked that ...

  • ... the documentation does not mention anything about my problem
  • ... there are no open or closed issues that are related to my problem

Description

IRC bot does not attempt to join configured channels nor does it send alerts to channels nor do the config settings listed in the documentation match reality.

(It does send alerts via PM if you manage to struggle through figuring out how to set up email so that you can auth to it, though.)

Expected behaviour

IRC bot attempts to join configured channels, sends alerts to those channels, and attempting to set config settings like irc_auth succeeds.

Actual behaviour

IRC bot does not attempt to join channels nor does it send alerts to channels nor do the config settings listed in the documentation match reality.

Steps to reproduce

Set up IRC bot.
