Este libro intenta ser una guía practica del curso de Econometría I de la **Universidad del Norte** que se encuentra ubicada en la costa norte de Colombia.
Posee un singular número de aplicativos prácticos, que son guiados utilizando los *principales* comandos del programa (software) **R** que son aprendidos por los estudiantes durante la clase magistral para el tema de **Econometría** una de las materias del core del departamento.
El Software **R** es: *Un lenguaje de programación de código abierto y que es enfocado en el análisis de datos, especialmente en el tema estadístico.* Sus creadores son Robert Gentleman y Ross Ihaka. En el link de <https://www.r-project.org/index.html> podrá encontrar todo lo relacionado con el programa y obtener mayor información sobre este.
Uno de los *paquetes* que mas se utilizará en esta guía es el **Tidyverse**, que se recomienda instalar de forma inmediata y que puede ser realizado desde la pestaña de la consola del software de la siguiente forma:

Los complementos y bases de este curso regularmente son demos de otras bases reales o utilizadas en los distintos textos de econometría que han venido realizando investigación empírica.
Muchos de los comandos y códigos aquí utilizados fueron tomados del sitio web de Florian Heiss: <http://www.urfie.net/> que hace referencia al uso de **R** en la Econometría de manera mucho mas general.
Otras ayudas que complementan estas notas de clase, son las que se tiene en los resumen de comandos de **R** o plantillas de apoyo conocidas como "Cheat sheets" que pueden ser obtenidas en <https://www.rstudio.com/resources/cheatsheets/>.
Para el curso, es bueno poseer ciertos _conceptos_ estadísticos base y algunas nociones de álgebra, como conocer algunos operadores y términos que se usan en esas ciencias.
