========= SEEMS TO BE FIXED ON 7.5.0 ===============
Just do this after you are able to use Kibana:
Push the image to docker hub.
docker login
docker commit elk kenwdelong/elk-docker:ELK-7.4.0
docker push kenwdelong/elk-docker:ELK-7.4.0
=== Same problem on 6.4.0, 6.5.0, 7.4.0 ===
Use a t3.large or it will likely crash the server
Bootstrap
yum update
yum install docker git nc
systemctl start docker
git clone https://github.com/kenwdelong/elk-docker.git
git checkout develop
docker build -t elk .
sysctl -w vm.max_map_count=262144
docker run -d --name elk -p 5601:5601 -p 9200:9200 -p 5000:5000 -e ES_HEAP_SIZE=1500m --ulimit nofile=65536:65536 elk
try the kibana port, it probably won't work
In the container
docker exec -ti elk bash
cd /opt/kibana
bin/kibana --allow-root
Wait for it to finish
Ctrl-C
cd ..
chown -R kibana:kibana optimize
service kibana start
exit container
test: nc -w 3 localhost 5000 < ./test/test.json
Then push the image to docker hub.
docker login
docker commit elk kenwdelong/elk-docker:ELK-7.4.0
docker push kenwdelong/elk-docker:ELK-7.4.0
