From 8596e5fb4aa9c5781805a3a91ff68388504b87c6 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Alex Vorona Date: Mon, 18 May 2026 14:57:33 +0100 Subject: [PATCH 1/2] fix(predictkube): bump dysnix/predictkube-libs to v0.1.0 (drop EOL go-grpc-prometheus chain), VictoriaMetrics-compatible health check This change addresses two long-standing predictkube-scaler concerns: 1) The transitive dependency on the archived/EOL github.com/grpc-ecosystem/go-grpc-prometheus that was pulled in via github.com/dysnix/predictkube-libs has been removed in the upstream library (predictkube-libs v0.1.0). The library now uses the actively maintained github.com/grpc-ecosystem/go-grpc-middleware/providers/prometheus instead, which is the same package KEDA already vendors elsewhere. Note: github.com/grpc-ecosystem/go-grpc-prometheus is still present in this repository's module graph because of a separate path (k8s.io/apiserver -> sigs.k8s.io/custom-metrics-apiserver). That path is unrelated to predictkube and is tracked upstream in k8s.io. After this PR the predictkube path is gone, partially addressing #7699. 2) The scaler's health check called s.api.Runtimeinfo(), which hits /api/v1/status/runtimeinfo - a Prometheus-only endpoint that is not implemented by VictoriaMetrics, M3DB, Thanos sidecar, etc. Pointing the scaler at any of those Prometheus-API-compatible backends caused activation to fail with a 404/400 even though all of those backends serve the rest of the Prometheus query API correctly. Replace the ping with an instant Query(ctx, "vector(1)", time.Now()), which is supported by every Prometheus-API-compatible backend. The test apiStub is updated to match the new endpoint; the prometheusV1 import in the test file is no longer needed and has been removed. CHANGELOG entries added under Fixes (the VM compat fix) and Other (the libs bump).
